WREXHAM AFC RESPONSE

WREXHAM AFC RESPONSE

Were you affected by the incident at The Racecourse Ground? If so, North Wales Police want to hear from you. This is the letter received from Wrexham AFC in response to TUST's concerns.

Chair Michel Thomas Torquay United Supporters Trust

8 November 2021

Dear Michel,

Thank you for the letter dated the 31st October 2021. Let me take this opportunity to apologise for the behaviour of a small majority of fans who attended the Wrexham AFC v Torquay match on the 30th October 2021.

Please may I reassure you that we are currently liaising with North Wales Police to provide evidence and support to their legal process which includes statements to police and CCTV.

Since the incident we have issued twelve Club Banning Notices to supporters who have been identified as using threatening or antisocial behaviour in and around the Racecourse Ground pending that North Wales Police investigation. All these names have been passed to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) who have been tasked to investigate the whole incident. Our DFO PC Dave Evans is collating incidents and I anticipate that North Wales Police will be in contact with Torquay United to ascertain the victims of these offences. However, I am happy to provide the details of our point of contact in North Wales Police to ensure your members are provided the support and voice they deserve to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

We pride ourselves on being a family orientated club and any misconduct from our supporters, either at home or away, is a reflection on our reputation and in particular gives out an inappropriate message. We take any complaints very seriously, and deal firmly with persons whose conduct interferes with the enjoyment of other supporters attending these matches. My best wishes are sent to those supporters effected by the events of the 30th October, but they should be reassured the Club are moving forward with dealing with these individuals robustly.

Yours sincerely,

Fleur Robinson Chief Executive Officer
