WOMEN'S PREMIER CUP FINAL - REPORT

TUST CO-SPONSOR DRAMATIC PENALTY SHOOT-OUT DEVON FA CUP FINAL VICTORY FOR TORQUAY UNITED WOMEN

TUST were the proud co-sponsors, along with our friends up the road at Exeter City Supporters’ Trust, of the Devon FA Women’s Cup Final played at Coach Road in front of nearly 600 last Friday evening.

In an enthralling match, played at a frantic pace, stand-in Torquay United goalie, Sasha Mole, was the hero of the evening scoring United’s opening shoot-out penalty then saving Exeter’s first and last, leaving the Torquay side 5-4 winners.

The match itself was a hard fought affair with higher league Exeter unlucky not to take the lead on at least two occasions in the second half, hitting the bar and the upright before taking the lead in the 85th minute but in six minutes of added time United were awarded a penalty to level the score.

Then followed a dramatic, nail biting penalty shoot-out with the United women smashing home some great goals - if only they’d been on duty at Ashton Gate!

TUST vice-chairman Robin Causley and Supporter Liaison Officer Nick Brodrick, along with two from Exeter’s Trust, greeted the players and officials before the game.
