As we approach the last day of the Yellow Army Share Issue on Friday with the total raised nudging towards an incredible £200,000, we are delighted to share the following poem. We are in debt to TUST member Nick Wotton (no relation!) who also featured in the Share Issue video for contributing these inspiring verses.

Heartbeat Growing Stronger
By Nick Wotton Watching the figures, heartbeats of our fans Growing stronger as the days fly by so fast Each number a wish from the flesh of hope Hope this Spring tide, will prosper and last
The yellow and blue waves now still in the Cove Finding stability and safe moorings to seek The bright sun will set on the efforts of the Gulls Success to be shared at the end of this week
The dreams of a club, full of dignity and vision Are setting sail on a voyage ,all together The ill winds that once becalmed our great club Have changed like the South Devon weather
Figureheads look out over a sparkling new bay The Cove’s sand shimmers into calm open sea A golden heart beats from the fans treasure chest That will bring back smiles to you and to me
Each time we set foot inside our Plainmoor shrine Be thankful to the loyalty of so many others The anchor will be lowered, secured and so strong The Gulls are back,we are all sisters and brothers
As supporters swell the seats and terraces again With the Yellow Army in form and so loud The buzz and the new found togetherness at last Makes an old Gull feel so humble and proud
The warmth and unity is so clear now to see Our club will grow with a broad smile on each face Our great young fans are this clubs new heartbeats The cobwebs we once had , now pure lace |
