Dear Members,
Please see attached some pictures of the recent Torquay United Legends evening held at No. 10’s on October 12th after our AGM.
This was the first event your new TUST Board and sub-teams have organised for members and non-members alike in an effort to improve the engagement of supporters with both the club and the trust. It was also an opportunity for us to try and raise some much needed funds for two worthwhile causes in the Torquay United Ladies Team (TULFC) and Sam Balsdon’s Disabled Supporters Project.
First and foremost we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of the Legends for giving up their time to come along and share their stories and memories of playing for the Gulls over the years (& managing in some cases!!). It was great to see the interaction between each of them and the fans that turned out on the night including their participation in a somewhat challenging quiz!!
Secondly, we’d like to thank the staff at the club and especially Sharon Cox and Bernie Phillips for working hard to make things run very smoothly on the night.
Finally, we’d like to express our thanks to those supporters who came along to create a memorable evening and for participating in the raffle and auction held. Your continued support is very gratefully received and always welcome.
In total we raised the sum of £500 which also included a couple of separate generous donations and hence this will be split 50/50 between both good causes. We will be presenting the Cheques to the Ladies Team and Sam Balsdon at half time during the home match against Billericay on November 3rd.
