TUST WELCOMES PUBLICATION OF THE FAN-LED REVIEW WHITE PAPER
TUST welcomes the publication of the Government’s White Paper on football governance.
We, along with 130+ supporters’ trusts and other organisations, on behalf of thousands of football fans, are pleased that the Government’s announcement regarding an Independent Regulator proposes to “oversee the financial sustainability of the game.”
TUST is also supportive of the proposals relating to enhanced regulation which include club licensing, the Owners’ and Directors’ Test and heritage protection.
The Fan-Led Review, which TUST is proud to have contributed to when meeting with Tracey Crouch MP last year, represents a once in a generation opportunity to ensure fans, the life-blood of every club, are acknowledged and treated as genuine supporters, not customers.
We look forward to following the progress of the White Paper and how it will effect the running of football clubs from the top flight to the National League.
